New Hampshire Forests

There is an interesting online article, "Why Snow Is Cool," published in UNH Today from the University of New Hampshire, about graduate student Elizabeth Burakowski's study into reforestation and regional climate change.



Burakowski's project is funded as part of the The Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR). EPSCoR

was established by the National Science Foundation in 1979 to strengthen science and engineering infrastructure in states that historically have received less in federal research grants....Since NH became an EPSCoR state in 2004, $93 million in federal grants have been awarded to build research capacity in New Hampshire.
